The workshop

We have specialised in these cars since 1965, and in very little else.

Classic Motor Corporation carries out every aspect of mechanical, electrical and coachwork repair on Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars — from a Silver Cloud that has stood for a decade to a modern car that needs an ECU rebuilt rather than replaced.

Work is done in our own workshops, by people who have spent their careers on this marque. Nothing is sent out to a general garage, and nothing is guessed at.

Services

Everything one of these cars is likely to need.

Routine care through to the work most garages will not take on.

Mechanical

Servicing

Scheduled servicing and mechanical repair for classic and modern cars, carried out to the standard the car was built to.

Mechanical

Spring cup repairs

A known weakness on these cars, and one we have repaired many times over. Diagnosed properly and put right.

Comfort

Improved heating

Silver Cloud and S-Type heating brought up to something you would actually want to use in a British winter.

Electrical

Electrical upgrades

Looms, charging, lighting and ancillaries improved without spoiling the character or originality of the car.

Electrical

ECU repair & upgrade

We repair and upgrade ECUs rather than replace them, which on later cars is often the difference between a bill and a very large bill.

Coachwork

Connollising

Leather brought back to life, and treated so it stays that way.

Coachwork

Body shop & paintwork

Panel work, preparation and paint, including hand-painted coachlines to the original specification.

Coachwork

Woodwork

Burr walnut veneers stripped, repaired, re-veneered and lacquered in our own woodwork shop.

Coachwork

Trimming

Hides, headlinings, carpets and overrugs cut and stitched to match what left the factory.

Restoration

A full restoration, or only the part that needs it.

Some cars come to us for a complete rebuild. Most come for one thing done properly. We will tell you honestly which one you are looking at before any work is agreed.

In-house craft

Three trades under one roof.

Wood, leather and paint are the three things that date a car fastest, and the three most often sent away and done badly. We keep all of them in the building.

Woodwork

Fascias, cappings and picnic tables re-veneered and lacquered by hand, matched across the car so no single piece stands out.

Trimming

Seats rebuilt from the frame up, in hide of the correct grain and colour, with piping and stitching to original pattern.

Interiors

The finished result: an interior that looks correct rather than merely new, and that will bear inspection at close range.

Parts · new, reconditioned and used

Parts

New, reconditioned or good used — whichever is right for the car.

We supply parts for Rolls-Royce and Bentley across the range, and we will say plainly when a reconditioned part is the better answer than a new one.

  • NewCurrent supply for cars still in production and for common service items.
  • ReconRebuilt to a known standard, often better value than new old stock.
  • UsedSourced through a network built over six decades, for parts no longer made.

Inspections & expert witness

An opinion that stands up in front of a court.

We carry out pre-purchase inspections for buyers who would rather know now than later, and we act as expert witness in disputes over these cars — condition, workmanship, valuation and the quality of repairs carried out elsewhere.

  • BuyersIndependent pre-purchase inspection, anywhere in the UK or abroad, with a written report.
  • OwnersSecond opinion on work quoted or already carried out by another garage.
  • LegalExpert witness inspections and advice for solicitors, insurers and the courts.
  • WarrantyGuidance on franchised agent warranties and what they do and do not cover.

On-site, worldwide

If the car cannot come to us, we come to the car.

Our specialists travel to carry out repairs and inspections across the UK, Europe and the United States. Collection and delivery can be arranged for cars that are better moved than driven.

Buying & selling

Cars bought, sold and found.

We buy Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars outright, sell on behalf of owners, and search for particular cars for clients who know exactly what they want and are prepared to wait for it.

If you are selling, tell us what you have. If you are buying, tell us what you are looking for.
